- Our Tour
Meet your guide in the hotel lobby, ready to start the tour with two of the most iconic museums in the world. Your first stop will be at the Uffizi Gallery: this museum must be seen at least once in a lifetime! The building was designed by Giorgio Vasari commissioned by Grand Duke Cosimo I de’ Medici in the mid-16th century. You will experience a beautiful journey through history and art, going from room to room, through the centuries. The tour starts from the medieval rooms where the great protagonist is Giotto, we will then continue in the Renaissance rooms where we will encounter paintings by Piero della Francesca, Botticelli, Leonardo, Michelangelo, Titian and many others. The visit inside the museum will end with rooms dedicated to the 17th century and Caravaggio. After visiting the Uffizi, you will take a short walk of approximately 1 km where the guide will explain the history of the two squares that you will cross, named “Piazza della Signoria” and “Piazza del Duomo”. Once arrived in Piazza della Signoria you will start your visit to the Accademia Gallery too. It will be an exciting experience to be in front of the David, a marble giant more than 5 meters tall! You will discover that David not only represented the biblical hero but was also a symbol of the civic value and independence of the city. David was started by Michelangelo at the age of 26 and he completed it in just 3 years of hard work. During the tour you will also see Buonarroti’s “Prisoners”, sculptures known for their “unfinished” style, works that seem to emerge from the marble with force and which are perfect examples to explain the technique that the artist used to sculpt most of his masterpieces.
